Hello, my mother is Audrey Mace, & her brother was Alan Mace. My mother’s mum ran a shop in Little compton during the 2nd world war & i believe that the strained glass window of the shop is still there with Mace written on it. My mother said that her father, grandad & great grandad were lead lighters, made srain glass windows. My mother is still alive & would know more. My email is baden35@hotmail.com. I’m away for 3 weeks but will reply. bye sharon

    Hi Sharon & Debbie,
My family used to live at Chapel Cottage, just up the road from your grandmother’s shop. My Grandmother’s name was Louisa Brain and my uncle Bernard Brain, her son, used to run a lorry as a general haulier and coal merchant before he died.I well remember Audrey Mace and her mother’s Post Office. I am now 86 years young and have today just returned from a visit to Little Compton with my family. Afraid my wife passed away last April. I now live in Gloucester, not far away. We visited the cemetry today trying to find my grandmother’s grave but no luck. I know it was there as i saw it years ago but no luck now. Keep in touch if you wish,
    Regards,
    John Cole
