On Sunday 21st August, between 2pm-5pm, Sir Alec Reed will open the gates of The Manor, Little Compton, for members of the public to see his award-winning gardens. This is only the second time in 1000 years that these secretive gardens have been accessible to the general public.

Tickets are £5, with all proceeds from the event going to charities of each ticket holder’s choice. You can buy tickets on the door, or they can be purchased online at www.thebiggive.org.uk/events/garden_give

It will be a wonderful chance to get together with friends in a peaceful and beautiful environment, and to support your local charities too. Sir Alec Reed and The Big Give hope to see you there.

On Wednesday night, 21st April, a firework was dropped into the post box at The Bank. Everything in the box was incinerated and a passer-by saw a beaten-up old Audi leaving the scene. Last night, a resident at 6, Brewery Row had the back windscreen of her Golf smashed in. These may be unconnected incidents but in a village where vandalism is rare, it seems a curious coincidence.
Vigilance is advised.
